CBN installed the second-generation V-Series Paintbox. This modernized, more compact, and affordable model had internal hardware improvements, a better tablet, an upgraded keyboard, and a cordless stylus.

Quantel became the industry standard TV graphics and post-production computer, with hundreds sold around the world. However, over the years, Quantel lost all its market share to cheaper systems and software. Only fifteen V-Series models and five original DPB versions remain, one of which is being restored to working order.
