ACTIVE 'TARGETED' SEARCH PHRASES
These are the keyword phrases that you begin to target or the phrases
you want to come up for in the search engines. We recommend using
'regional' names as part of your strategy to include your city and/or
state. Once you achieve optimization for these phrases (usually takes
4 to 6 months), the search engines begin to rank you higher for 'passive'
search results.
'PASSIVE' RETURNED SEARCH RESULTS
Now you are getting good results for targeted terms. This means that
the search engines are finding 'relevant' information' in your web
site pages.
The search engines will begin to deep crawl your web pages putting
together an index of search terms using the HTML text copy and ALT
Tags within your pages. Look at the following HTML text paragraph:

services. Fill out our online form and we will provide
you a free quote.
Note the 'bolded text' in the sentence. The
search engine referenced our web site for the search phrase: 'web
design quote form' The combinations are endless. The more
relevant copy you have the better. Content is king!
Research the key phrases you intend on using. Ask yourself,
'what key phrases people use to find your product or service'?

Develop a list of targeted key phrases with optimum traffic. Review
your list and remove phrases of lower value or less traffic.

• Examine and note their title and key phrases.
• Determine if the top 10 ranking sites your competitors.

MSN and AOL Search).
