I
Love Email Spammers and You Should Too!
If you are getting lots of email spam then
you might be interested to know this means your web site is
getting found easily on the Web. And if you are a business
that wants to get noticed then this is a good thing. In life
you have to deal with the good, the bad and the ugly. In this
case 'the bad and the ugly' is having all those email spammers
and marketing companies finding you as well.
I receive up to +100 pieces of email spam
per day and have become accustomed to deleting them quickly.
It only takes a few seconds to review, delete junk emails
and spam emails.
First thing each morning (after lots of coffee of course)
I login to my spam catcher at https://login.postini.com/exec/login
The Postini interface allows me to do a quick glance for keeping,
deleting, delivering or approving sender emails. This usually
takes me about one to two minutes to do each morning.

If you are listed in Web directories and search engines, then
spammers can easily find you. If belong to any online mailing
lists, e-zines, newsletters, Blogs, bulletin boards/ forums
then spammers and marketers are finding you through these
online channels as well.
If you own a website or multiple websites then spammers will
also bombard your email addresses based on your web address
and other email domain addresses found in your web site pages
and inside web site forms.
You can have a web developer install security
scripts in all your web forms. This type of system requires
a user to enter a random code in ANY web form before they
hit the submit button. This helps to cuts down on most spam
(not all, but most), however doing this makes it a little
more difficult for someone filling out your web-based form.
See the illustration below:
As a business owner I prefer not having
any blocks or hurdles between me and a potential customer.
When you have any security script installed in your web form
then all it takes is one entry mistake for a number or character
and the form submission will fail and ask them to try again.
For someone who is in a hurry, prone to keyboard mistakes
or has difficulty seeing their screen up close; this can be
extremely frustrating.
This is why I do not have any security scripts on my website
contact or inquiry forms. Although I use Postini, I still
have to deal with spam.
If you want customers to contact you,
it’s best to keep it simple and easy to do. I would
rather see my daily in box filled with 100 spam emails and
two new website customer inquiries versus having no customer
leads at all.
My message to the spammers and marketers..
'Bring it on... because I have the fastest delete keystroke
in town'.
